CODE OF CONDUCT
At TGS, rules have been specified so that they represent the school community’s expectations from students in terms of dress, behaviour and personal presentation. Students are expected to behave as per the acceptable standards at all the times while in the school.
Students are expected to follow certain mandatory rules:
- Students are expected to observe discipline and decorum in their behaviour and outside the school as it reflects the image of the school.
- Students should never cheat or be unfair but should always be truthful and conduct in a courteous manner in public.
- Respect and appreciate the beauty of the classroom and of the school premises. Any damage observed should immediately be reported.
- Students must take care of their belongings like books, money, clothes, etc. Anything left by the students in the school shall be deposited with the school office as lost property which shall be given back to the owner on claiming it. However, the school is not responsible for any such loss.
- Students should resist from undesirable behaviour like whistling, shouting or running in the corridors or in the class while in the school.
- Attendance on all school functions and other events is mandatory for students for celebrating the function or as per the scheduled.
- All the class teachers must ensure that prior application is submitted by the student before taking leave.
- In case of unforeseen circumstances, where the student fails to submit prior application, he/she must call and inform at the school reception.
- Those students who come on bicycle must submit an application to the principal seeking the permission for the same.
- Wearing any kind of accessory like bangle, ring, chain etc. is strictly not allowed. If found, then it shall be permanently confiscated by the school authorities.
- School property like furniture, walls etc. should not be defaced. The culprit will be penalized for the same.
- Students should keep the environment and community clean.
- Don’t throw any wrapper or piece of paper in the urinals or basins as it will lead to their blockage.
- Always turn off the taps and flush after use.
- Every class shall have one girl and one boy monitor. In the absence of teacher, the monitor shall be solely responsible for maintaining discipline in the class. If any student creates indiscipline in the class, then his report should be given to the class teacher.
- Each class shall have one girl and one boy pass. No student shall be allowed to go outside the class without pass.
- The class shall not remain vacant for more than 2 minutes. It is the responsibility of the monitor to call the respective teacher and if the subject teacher is absent, then check adjustment from reception.
- Always bring books and notebooks according to the time table.
- All the notebooks and books must be properly covered with name and class written on them.
- Books other than the text books or library books should not be brought to the school.
- All the students will finish their tiffin box in the recess. There should not be any leftover in the tiffin box.
- Students are not allowed to bring sharp instrument/weapons like pistol, knife or any other object, which can cause injury to others.
- Cameras, mobile phones, etc. are strictly prohibited in the school premises.
- Students should read the school notices and share them with their parents.
- The school reserves the right to expel any student whose progress in studies is considered unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to the school atmosphere. Immorality, insubordination or contempt of authority and breaking bonds are some of the reasons for immediate expulsion or rustication.

PROMOTION & DETENTION
The assessment & promotion from pre- primary onwards shall be governed in conformity with the guidelines of RIGHT TO EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2019. There will be two terms. The first term will be from April to September & the second term from October to March of the subsequent year.
CLASSES 1 TO 5
These classes have an integrated academic programme devised to inculcate confidence in the child. The environment is communicative and children are motivated to express themselves. Reading is a vital part of the programme. Children are encouraged to ask questions. We offer: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Computers, GK, Art, Dance, Games, Yoga and Sports in class room teaching.
- Each student is required to secure qualifying marks of 33 per cent or above in all the subjects as per the Examination Policy, for the purpose of promotion to the next class.
- Medical Cases:In case of medical cases (certified by a Registered Medical Practitioner), the child may be promoted on the basis of cumulative result as decided by the Examination committee.
- The student not scoring the qualifying ‘marks’ in any two subjects will be given a chance to appear for an improvement Exam.
CLASSES 6 onwards
The academic programme for the middle school & senior school is designed to develop individual & group values. Formal study skills are inculcated and methods & strategies for strong work habits are taught to the children.
The school follows latest Education Policy for the assessment & evaluation for classes 6 onwards
The assessment structure and examination system from class 6th onwards has been prepared in view of provisions of RTE Act (Amendment) 2019. It comprises of two terms. If the child fails in Final Exams, he/she shall be given a chance to take re-examination within two months.
CLASSES 11 & 12 ( Proposed)
The Promotion from Class XI to XII shall be governed by the following rules:
- Attendance should be at least 75 %.
- Marks in each subject to be at least 40 %.
- The school shall conduct two terminal examinations & four cycles of unit tests in which the student should score at least 40% in aggregate and compulsorily get passing marks in individual subjects too.
- The Class XII examination shall be conducted by the Board. At school level, there shall be four revision tests and two pre-boards. Students are prepared for admission to College/University. The academic programme concentrates on providing a sound educational experience in a safe, nurturing and challenging scholastic environment. The students are also made to face situations where they have to use their innovative, imaginative and organizational skills.
- NOTE : THE STUDENTS OF NON BOARD CLASSES WHO DON’T APPEAR IN HOUSE EXAM OR TERMINAL EXAMINATION WILL NOT BE GIVEN ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO APPEAR IN EXAM.

The House system plays a pivotal role in the conduct of cultural and co-curricular activities in the school. It fosters team spirit, sense of belongingness amongst the students. Students from various classes are bracketed together in a house. The system offers an effective platform to the students to showcase, nurture and excel their talent. Inter house competitions held over the year cultivate a healthy competitive spirit. The students & staff members give their best to bring glory & laurels to their Houses. Every student from class I onwards is allotted a particular house as soon as he/she is admitted to the school.
The students at TGS School are grouped into 4 houses, namely- Jupiter, Earth, Mars and Venus.
Each house has a motto to motivate & encourage the team members to give their best.
